Thank you Aunty Maria for sharing the gifts God gave you, with the world. You were born with the beautiful charm of kindness and compassion and a hearing ear. Your laughter and smile had its way with people. You attracted friends and family from all over- people naturally wanted to be with you because your heart was always open. Your gift of tailoring and dressmaking made your hands moved over fabric; melting and molding it into such beautiful things that people will enjoy for generations. Your cooking and biscuit making was next-level genius. The amount of love and togetherness this brought your tribe will be the cornerstone of your legacy. It was your expression of love and unity of your family. To say you will be missed is a ridiculous understatement. Our family has lost a key piece to its design, but your spirit- through your teachings, your love, the time you invested in your children and grandchildren will be filtered down through generations as you are remembered, through them. Rest in peace my fabulous aunt. I can't wait to see you again on the other side x

Auntie Maria walked into a room and changed it. The kind of warmth that you just can’t manufacture and it simply followed her wherever she went. Auntie Maria’s laugh arrived before she did. Her cooking was something else. Rich, generous, the kind that made you feel held. Auntie Maria’s sewing room was a portrait of her mind that is creative, precise and overflowing with possibility. She didn’t just sew. Auntie Maria made things beautiful and made things to last. Auntie Maria was bright and capable and genuinely alive. The way that makes the world feel more itself when she was in it. Some people leave things behind that keep on giving and Auntie Maria was exactly that kind of person. RIP Auntie Maria.
